Essie nail polish Fall 2016 review and swatches

Essie's Fall 2016 Collection is inspired by Tokyo and has 6 new colors. The collection is called Japanese if you please and all the polishes have creme finish, which I think fits the fall season best. I'm all for hidden shimmers in Spring, holographics in Summer, cremes in Fall and glitter in Winter.

Here are the swatches of the Essie's Fall 2016 Collection:

Essie nail polish  Fall 2016 shades:
Playing Koi – orange
Maki Me Happy –  berry
Kimono-Over –  plum
Now and Zen –  sage gray
Udon Know Me – blue
Go Go Geisha – pink

I'm very meh about this collection overall and as much as I like the Essie formula (and their European brush), I do wish they'd do a collection of colors that would fit the theme better. I know reds have been done to death with Essie, but for this theme, I don't see why there's a berry here instead of a proper red. The pink is also a miss for me. I would have liked a pure cherry blossom pink, I find this to be too pale.
Even the gray is a weird tone. If it was supposed to be the city concrete, why does it have that sage undertone? I
I don't know, this collection will be a pass for me and I'm super curious what Essie will come out with for Winter and Holiday.

I hope you enjoyed my Essie nail polish Fall 2016 review and swatches and I'll talk to you soon!
