This is my Nail art design basics: How to stamp post.
Nail stamping is by far my favorite way to do nail art. Once you have the basics down, you can easily expand on them and get a huge range of nail art and designs.
Nail stamping can be so much more than just plain two color design but in order to get there, you must first get the simple »one color stamp design per nail« down.
Nail stamping supplies don’t need to cost a lot of money. You need a stamper and stamping plates and that’s it. The super affordable nail stampers can work just as well as the “high end” ones, so you don’t necessarily get a better product for more money.
If you’re on a budget, get the supplies from bornpretty online store. They have good quality nail stamping stuff and you’ll see stuff on sale all the time.
I suggest the clear stamper, since it works well for basic stamping and will come super handy later on, when you’ll want to do more intricate designs. The scraper is a waste of money, any used gift card works better.
My favorite nail stamping store with higher price point products is MoYou London. I have loads of their products and love their plates. They rarely do any sales, pretty much the best you can hope for is a free shipping code. A USA based company with great nail stamping stuff is Bundle Monster.
As for stamping nail polish, there are loads of brands that do specialized stamping polishes. If you’re just starting out, you’ll need a black and a white stamping polish, my faves are from Essence.
Other than specialized ones, polishes that work for stamping are those that are opaque in one coat and most of chrome and foil polishes.
As for stamping tutorials, youtube is stuffed with them and you only need to look at one to get the point.
Stuff to look out for:
If your stamper doesn't want to pick up the image, take your nail buffer and lightly buff it.
If your topcoat smears your stamped design, get a different top coat. Topcoats that work without fail are Seche Vite, Poshe and Essence Better than Gel, just make sure you load the bruch well with the product before going over your design.
